What is the BEACH?
It's the basketball student section of the University of Miami.  Clad in orange, students enter the BEACH to cheer on their ACC basketball team.

How do I join?
Joining the BEACH is simple if you're a UM student.  Just come to a basketball game and sit in the student section.  Wear orange and be rowdy to get the full BEACH experience.

Is it free?
Yes, it's all free, as long as you're a UM student with a paid athletic fee.

Where do I find the BEACH?
The student section occupies sections 117 and 118 of the BankUnited Center, covering the entire baseline opposite the media and band.

How do I get into the building?
If you're a student, you don't need to buy a ticket, just bring your Cane Card.  Come to the student section entrance on the east corner of the building and swipe your Cane Card there.

How early does the arena open for students?
The gates usually open 1 hour before tipoff.  Get there earlier to get a great seat!

How many does the BEACH hold?
The student section seats 1,000 students.  Entrance is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so get there early!

What are some of the BEACH's traditions and cheers?
The BEACH has a large variety of chants, cheers, and traditions to help support our team.  Check out the cheers page for more information.

Where do I find the Gameday Report?
Look for Category 5 members who will be giving them out before each game.  Also check the table outside sections 117-118.  And you can always print out your own before the game to ensure you get a copy.

What about giveaways and promotions?
Be on the lookout for various giveaways and promotions during the season.  In previous years, we've held raffles and dorm competitions and given away rally towels, shirts, water bottles, flash drives, wristbands, Crocs, and numerous other things.

Are signs allowed?
Yes, make and bring however many signs you wish - they might just get you on tv! However, please be considerate of others while holding them up; other people want to watch the game too.  And keep them tasteful (i.e. no profanity), but be creative!
